None of those. The core is a patented fiberglass-resin compound. Water is used only to activate the 15-minute molding process. As you walk, the resin captures your foot shape under your body weight, then sets permanently rigid. No liquid remains inside the finished orthotic.

How long do Contour insoles typically last?

Do I need to see a specialist before using Contour insoles?

What if I put in too much or too little water?
The syringe has a fill line — fill to it and you're set. Overfill slightly and your walking pressure distributes it naturally. Underfill and the orthotic will just take longer to mold. Either way, it's designed to be forgiving.
What if I mess up the mold?
We'll send you a free replacement kit. No charge, no argument. Most fit issues come from the first attempt, and a second mold with a little guidance solves it. And if the second one still isn't right, your full guarantee still applies.
Does it make noise when I walk?
The resin sets completely solid after the molding process. There's no liquid inside, no air pockets, no moving parts. It's a rigid shell sitting inside your shoe — silent, like any factory insole.
Does weight affect it?
